Soooo….. what is IPL? The answer is quite simple! It’s a light-based treatment that uses pulses of light at different wavelengths to treat various concerns including excess hair (it can be great for those with hirsutism), acne and ageing skin.
Some IPL treatments are similar in function to lasers. For example, in hair removal both IPL and laser direct light energy towards the pigmentation in hair that causes a burst of heat, which damages the cells that cause hair growth. This process is called selective photothermolysis. Whilst IPL and laser are alike in some ways, they are, in fact, quite different. Treatment options with IPL include:
- Acne Management
- Hyperpigmentation/ Sun Damage
- Thread Veins/ Red Veins/ Leg veins
- Rosacea
- Illumi Facial
Please note a consultation and patch test is required a minimum of 48hrs prior to any Laser/IPL procedure.
